Yes, prenatal vitamins are good for you.. especially if you are pregnant. They have an extra amount of Folic Acid in them. You can get them over the counter at wal mart or wal greens, or you can get your doctor to prescibe them, and I think the prescription vitamins have even that much more nutrients in them. A good brand? Hm, I'm not sure, just go to Wal Mart to the vitamin aisle and take a look at them and see which ones have a good amount of calium and folic acid in them. Also, other good vitamins to take are B complex(good for stress, depression and weightloss), Fish Oil pills(good omega 3 fatty acids), Garlic pills(good for immune system), Vitamin C pills 500mg, Vitamin D with Calcium(good for bones and teeth) Calcium supplements, Daily Vitamins(for women or men),Cranberry pills(for good urinary tract function) and lots lots more vitamins to choose from. Just go to wal mart and spend about 30 minutes in the vitamin aisle looking at everything from A-Z, you'll be impressed by all they have to offer. A good name brand is Nature Made. Also you can get a Puritan's Pride Catalogue and order vitamins through them.

I don't know about making your hair grow faster, but I think that you would benefit from these no matter what. Overall, I think you'll feel better in general. Your dr. would probably be the best person to ask about them though. If you're considering having children, I know my ob/gyn gives these to women who are trying to conceive. The best ones by prescription are called Lactocal-F. I took these with both of my pregnancies, 11 years apart, and I think they're great. If you have a prescription drug insurance, they should cover them, but prepare yourself if they don't - some insurances don't cover any vitamins at all, even prescription ones.

take natural stuf like -
bee pollen with organic honey
seaweed / spirulina
barley n wheat grass
cod liver oil makes a beautiful baby
evening primrose oil with fish oil make mum n baby happy
olive leaf extract protects the immune system and destroys the yeast fungus

yeast bread & beer is very depressing and grows 'fungus' i feel that yeast makes babys unhappy and may lead a person to question their sexuality in later life
dont be around negative people, or a partner, never allow the baby to hear bad things, especially about you, the mother

i also believe that a mother, who is having a boy, who is deficient in zinc & vitamin e, may have a baby with a small penis, this can stay with the boy for life, so i feel mothers should consume adequate amounts of zinc & vitamin foods
check with a herbalist or get ur hair analysed to get a proper balance for u and baby

Folic acid is good for your hair, your nails, your energy and for your fetus. I just can't stand that "pre-pregnant" propaganda going around the USA as of late though. It angers me to no end!
