I live in northeast Brazil, and my city specially is very touristic. In fact, we (locals) get often upset at the way tourists behave here, specially single guys who want to get laid. If it's not your case, however, you're welcome. The city is called Fortaleza. It's 4 degrees south of Equator, so it's hot all over the year. There are many beaches in the city, but the best ones for me are the ones not so explored outside the city, specially the ones with rocks (the beaches inside Fortaleza are mostly just sand), because the rocky beaches have tidal pools where you can snorkel. There is a big park with pools, restaurants, water slides (one of them is the biggest in the world, with 41 meters). Typical food is seafood based, specially fish and shrimps.
Now, the thing is: the summer rains usually start in December. When the year is dry, they won't start till March, and I think this will be the case this year, but I can't promise there won't rain in November.

How about one of those singles' resorts that are so popular in the Carribean ??
I personally loved Puerta Vallarta but I went when I was married so didn't notice if it was too family oriented.
Have fun! Same time you're doing that, I'll be trekking though Eastern Europe for a week, freezing my buns off but enjoying every minute of it!

bora bora heard the native women are "extra friendly" if you know what i mean...read it on a website lol but since you said you weren't looking for that...it is still the "most beautiful island" in the world. and i guarantee you prob don't know anyone else that has been there.
