RE:
what color door and shutters would you put on a house w/red brick and tan siding?

If it's a colonial (and red brick tends to indicate this) consider any dark shade for doors and shutters. Black is most traditional, although muted dark blues, greens and greys are acceptable too. Burgundy is sometimes used, but moreso on ranch homes. Burgundy tends to be absorbed into the brick.

well, im going to assume that the brick is on the front of the house......that being said you could match up the color of the siding and use that as the shutters on the front or go with something darker like Black accents. I think the Black could work especially if the driveway is visible with black asphalt and the color of the roof is black. Otherwise stick with the neutral color of tan.

I love the look of wood, so I would stain the door a deep maghony color. and the pop out would be the wreath that you add to the door. Accent with many flowers or greenery and even the white accent during Christmas would stand out. I know that the steel doors can be stained just like real wood. and the wood grain will come thru.

I would either match the color of the siding or mabye a colonial blue or slate blue. If you prefer a darker color then a dark, forest green.
