I am 18 weeks. I feel sensations in my tummy but think it might just be the baby kicking. Sometimes it feels like someone taking a quick sqeeze of an area. Almost too quick to realize.

I am not a doctor, I have had four children though and it sounds to me more like your uterus stretching to make room for your growing little one more than Braxton Hicks. I believe they do not start until late in the second or early in the third trimester. You really can feel your uterus stretching and the baby moving around in there and sometimes it can be quite uncomfortable. Enjoy every minute and take lots of pictures of your growing belly.

Braxton Hicks is late in the pregnancy. When the baby starts moving, it feels like a little hook inside of your tummy with the slightest flutter feeling. You are probably just getting used to the baby being in your body

yes, they can happen now but usually occurs a little later in pregnancy. Remember that braxton hicks are not painful contractions usually just a tightening sensation(often annoying) and not regular. Any other symptoms please call your OB doc. or if these feelings worry you then you need to get on the phone with your doc. asap. Better safe than sorry .

They can start as early as the beginning of the second trimester. For me they reminded me of wearing a girdle across my front and having it tightened a little. Then I would feel my belly with my hand and it would be harder than normal.
