My friend Carol is black.
HER family was mad because she married a really dark black man. At the alter her Aunt remarked very loud in a false whisper, "He sure is a darky, ain't he?" AT THE CHURCH. They were mad at her (very light skinned) for marrying a dark man...what is up with that?
Can you be racist against your own kind - a la - the SHADE of color that you are?

Unfortunately in society we are influenced by the Media. The media - you can imagine - is like a large chain hooked onto the public's collar - that jerks us one way, then jerks us another way - all for a reason we can only guess. No one's concerned for anyone's safty. It's just more hype!

Sounds like you have a problem with racial issues? When will people just accept that white, black, red, yellow, missing is missing!as long as you continually harp about being black and it is a black issue the "syndrome" will never change?I find that all races have the same problems but seem to handle them all different? As for Holloway, the problem started with her being allowed to go to a foriegn country unescorted and being only 18 and drinking with no supervision[a problem just waiting to develop]and then we are supposed to feel sorry for her family? they should have watched their children closer!!!sorry but it is the core of problem!!Cancun is another example!!youngsters running wild and no adult supervision??Believe me the predators are out there all the time! One more thing, white is becoming a minority slowly but surely!!By 2050 mixed blood in America will be the dominant "race"?

Have you checked out the Philadelphia Daily New yet? Go on Line, and pull it up. Now, reflect on this question again.

It has very little to do with their race. They were rich and pretty, and people like to think that bad things don't happen to pretty, rich little girls.
Plus, their families had enough money to get the media's attention. They put out flyers and get whole campaigns going to search for their children. That gets more media attention than some ugly little poor kid whose family can only sit by the phone and pray.

no, i would say the media picked up on those two because there was no bad news going on throughout the world, so they needed to nationalize some bad news.
