Long, heavy periods can be a sign of PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome). It doesn't always mean that you actually have cysts, so don't be scared. Just ask your doctor to run some tests (usually just blood tests and an ultrasound). If they come back negative, then at least you know that nothing is abnormal. If they come back positive, then the doctor will usually just put you on birth control to help ease the periods and possibly a drug like Metformen, which is actually meant for diabetics, but it will help with PCOS too. Some girls are started on this treatment before they ever start their periods.

Its probably normal. When I was younger I used to bleed like that also. 7 days straight and very heavy. Then my body changed and all of a sudden I had periods every three week instead of once a month. Birth control even out my period. But u should talk to your doctor to make sure that everything is okay. And to see if there is anything u can take to help. If you have never had a pap them you should. you are becoming a woman and you need to take care of your body!

It's probably what is normal for most women. I think that, if it's too heavy, or irregular, then your OB might suggest you go on the "pill". The pill is a hormonal supplement. Yes, it keeps you from getting pregnant. But, the hormones involved also help to regulate your period - sometimes shortening it, and sometimes making it lighter and/or barely noticible.
Talk to your doctor about it - it might help!

You need to talk to your Mom (or Dad or legal guardian). Nine days with a heavy period is something that needs attention. It may be perfectly normal for you, but a doctor needs to make that determination.

I'm not a doctor but I'm sure it's healthy. Your developing fast.
But if you are worried about it try talking to you mom or a female family member or else go to your doctor. Don't be embarrassed either. Every woman goes through the same thing

That's a long period. I'm not sure if you age has anything to do with it. You may tend to be somewhat anemic (low red blood cells) during your period, making you oxygen starved during excessive exercising. You may feel more tired than usual during this time.
I would ask your parent(s) to ask your doctor.

The best person to answer this question would be your gynecologist. Every woman has different types of menstrual cycles. You should bring this to light with your physician.
