"Bush Balks at Criteria for FEMA Director
Signing Statement Asserts Right to Ignore Parts of New Homeland Security Law
Saturday, October 7, 2006

President Bush reserved the right to ignore key changes in Congress's overhaul of the Federal Emergency Management Agency -- including a requirement to appoint someone with experience handling disasters as the agency's head -- in setting aside dozens of provisions contained in a major homeland security spending bill this week.
Besides objecting to Congress's list of qualifications for FEMA's director, the White House also claimed the right to edit or withhold reports to Congress by a watchdog agency within the Department of Homeland Security that is responsible for protecting Americans' personal privacy."

If he gets by with this, the next step will be to get all cabinet appointments made without congressional oversight. Hail to our king, the poster child for incompetence in government.

No one is waiting for government to do anything. This is about having our constitution stripped bare before our eyes without complaint. Saying " leave politicians to be politicians" won't cut it!

This is a man who ignores law and ethics. How many times must the American public see this before they get it? He the party boy from college who drove drunk and endangered people on our roads. He's the guy who didn't show up for National Guard duty, or when he did was too hungover to work. Why did people think he would be a good president? A leopard doesn't change its spots.

Are you American? Are you buying it? Americans lead they don't follow. No one gives a rat's *** about whatever clue you think you have. What FEMA? You are way into this and need to go to New Orleans and do some volunteer work instead of trying to imply we need government to do anything. Screw what the politician's do. Do what you are supposed to do and things will get done. Waiting for the government to do what we are supposed to do is why things don't get done by the government. Things are done by Americans not politicians. Politicians don't do anything but make stupid laws tailored to their abuse and to serve big business. They don't care about a bunch of poor people floating around hurricane areas or the like. Real Americans do the work we don't have time to wait.

Heck no! Vote against Bush and his cronies! When the dens take back the house and senate next month, Bush better start thinking up of a resignation speech before he gets impeached.
