I bruise WAY too easily. Is there a vitamin I can take to make my skin stronger. And I was told I needed iron tablets. The dr had given me free samples, now I'm out. I thought of buying some (I have no health insurance to go back to the dr) & I was just wondering, what does lack of iron in your blood cause to happen to your body?

Maybe if you take some vitamin K or eat more greens to make your blood thicker you won't bruise so easy. People who are on blood thinners, (who can't eat or take vitamin K) bruise easy because their blood is so thin.Getting more vitamin K into your system could work.

Lack of iron in the blood causes you to bruise more easily, and bleed more profusely. Lack of iron also causes lethargy, and
oddly enough, can also cause insomnia.
Don't bother with iron tablets. They simply don't work as effectively as a well rounded diet.
Red meat gives a big and quick shot of iron, so upping your red meat intake would help.
Most people with low iron end up that was because they're vegetarian (or leaning towards it) and don't really know how to do it properly.
If you want to be vegetarian and have proper iron levels you'll need to eat a really varied diet of fruits and veggies. Especially fresh dark green veggies eaten WITH vitamin C rich foods such as Citrus fruits (Vitamin C is necessary for Iron to be properly assimilated in the body).

You seem to be enemic, hence the bruising. Take multi-vitimans with iron, and eat a steady balanced three meals a day.
