It's like Lisa said.
Nowadays, anyone uses programmes like 'photoshop' and suddenly people think they can make a good design.
It's not the programme that makes the person a designer. It's a tool to make a design, but the feeling for shapes, colours and design is something you have or don't have. Maybe one can learn, but people can always tell when they see something made by a creative person.
So for those who think they are: enjoy yourself with your programmes, but please let the designers do their job, and stick to your own qualities...
These days one can do so much things with for instance Photoshop. But if you see certain effects, a real designer sees it coming from far. Originality is missing and often the result is tacky.
So end conclusion: modern technology is a great tool to make a wonderful design, but it still depends on the designer to make the design, AND to know how to use the technology!

Certainly having the right software makes a huge difference, but as a graphic designer who used to work in a print shop, I can say with all certainty that technology does NOT a designer make. I regularly saw so many people with a copy of Photoshop come into the shop to get something printed thinking that, because they know how to use a few filters or grab a few images off the internet, they're now graphic designers themselves. It's simply not true. I'm not saying that there aren't people with natural born talent who can teach themselves some tricks and create a great design. But the fact is, design is knowing how colours and type work together, concept, how to plan a visual message so that it is received/perceived in an intended way, etc. The technology just helps you do it.

Technology has brought graphic design out of the stone age, but if a person is just skilled in using the tools without knowing how to implement good design techniques, the tools are worthless.

a procedures too plenty. we oldies would cope extra beneficial than youthful human beings would if each little thing went pear formed because of the fact we are able to all bear in suggestions distinctive procedures of doing issues, besides the undeniable fact that, the kit for doing issues the previous way will no longer exist in many properties so understanding the thank you to do something and having the flexibility to are no longer the comparable element continuously. some properties are actually ALL electric. think of being with out electrical energy for a fortnight. maximum persons hate it whilst the means is going off for 2 hours. I even have gas for cooking and a gas hearth however the gas correct heating won't artwork with out electric nonetheless. I even have land up torches and candles in holders so i'd cope someway yet i wouldn't understand what to do with myself whilst i could no longer turn on the laptop. i'd omit the radio additionally because it is not run by batteries. I also have a house telephone as properly as a cellular yet i wouldn't like it if i could no longer value up the cellular. we don't understand how plenty we use issues until they are long previous or do no longer artwork. electrical energy isn't precisely what you asked approximately yet maximum modern-day technologies relies upon upon it . Petrol stations and supermarkets could close down whilst the means fails. Even small deepest shops close at such cases because of the fact lots of the workers does no longer understand the thank you to characteristic up the great of a guy or woman's purchases with out the until doing it for them and telling them what substitute is needed. additionally, they want the until roll to record revenues so as to understand what inventory to reorder. each little thing is linked recently so whilst one element is going down it rather is a sequence reaction and the entire city encompasses a standstill - very almost.

It's true that technology is a tool. But tools effect the way an artist works. The tools give the artist feedback, in handling, and the sensitive artist responds to what the tool is saying to him with changes in his way of working. It's a collaboration, between artist and his chosen tools.
There are absolutist snobs who disagree with this. But most of them are critics and writers, not visual artists.
