Because people use profanity in real life. A better question would be why do people get so bent out of shape about profanity in movies when it's all around them in the real world all the time.

I don't think it's the producers. They just put in the stuff that movie watchers want. It's the people who watch movies that think there should be cussing. Same thing with music. People like to listen to cussing in music. So, the producers and artists put it in there.
Look at it this way. If everyone thought the way you do (that there should be no cussing), then the movies that cuss wouldn't sell, and they would stop making them. But, since most people don't mind the cuss words, people buy movies that cuss, and Hollywood is turning them out faster and faster all the time.

Cussing stresses the exact emotion at the moment it occurred. Or it can be used to to accentuate a common idea.
Anger, Stress, hatred, rejection, frustration disappointment, betrayal, are just a few that trigger the cussing emotion.
So if Art imitates life, cussing will always be in the movies.

who wants to see a mega hit movie where it's obvious they tried not to cuss. It's not realistic. Sure, you can go through anyday without cussing but it's boring. Most of the time, cussing is used as an emphasis of emotion in dialogue. Dull emotions = no sales.

I dont know but they are getting more brave by the movie. Soon there will be less people going due to all the cussing. It's excessive!

Directors are just trying to make the movie as realistic as possible.
In high intensity situations, or with teenagers, generally there is a lot of cursing. The producers simply make it part of "normal" dialog, because they see that "normally" in a lot of people.

I really dislike all the cussing in movies.
ESPECIALLY movies billed as family or children's entertainment.
I think the people making the films are mostly just so desensitised that they see no issue.
Secondarily, I've thought sometimes that perhaps they feel it
is such an important part of our culture that it needs to be portrayed to be authentic... of course, I feel they're wrong and are merely feeding an ill fire.

Because they think the movie will reach a bigger audience....when the movie would be just as good,if not better, without the profanity.

It often makes it more realistic, because that is- - rightly or wrongly -- how a lot of people talk. Sometimes, though, it does seem they go overboard just for effect , shock value or sophomoric humor.
