Hi! I'm 15 weeks pregnant now, and have always had a REALLY irregular cycle. My OB-GYN scheduled an ultrasound right away for me just to verify dates and get an accurate idea of where we were. Turns out we were exactly, to the day, right where we'd thought, but it's good to get it confirmed anyhow.
Although your doctor might feel comfortable with an approximate date, he might be able to get a good guess just by feeling the size of your uterus (which they're gonna do at your appointment anyways!) although this is obviously not as exact as an ultrasound, and the heavier you are to begin with, the harder it is to get a proper estimate from this method.
But don't worry, an ultrasound isn't a risk to the fetus, it's actually kind of fun since you get to see your baby, and it's heartbeat and everything!
Good luck to you, and enjoy!

Speak with your doctor and do what they say is necessary. Unfortunately with an irregular cycle it is hard to determine the actual conception date. Later in the pregnancy the doctor will be able to give you a more accurate date.
CONGRATULATIONS, and Good Luck!!!

Yes, u/s would help, only if done early like in the first 10 weeks or so. Still they can be off by a week. Anything later can be off by 2 weeks or more.

I'm like that too.....get it like every OTHER month if I'm lucky......
an Ultra-sound will tell you exactly how far along you are and the age of the fetus.
