No I don't watch it and I really hate that they put that junk on the cartoon network channel. My daughter's usually asleep when it comes on but I leave her TV on all night and what if she woke up in the middle of the night to pee? I have to go in there every night after she's asleep and take it off Cartoon Network because I don't want my 5 year old subjected to this.....they learn early enough as it is.

1. Because it's just a cartoon, we put less restrictions on it.
2. Something about gross or rude things situationally stimulate us.
Example. From a cartoon that is not even considered offensive.
If you ever saw a Anvil drop and fall on a person, you would not think it funny and would probably run for help. But in a cartoon where no one is really getting hurt it doesn't matter so situationally it's funny. Changing the situation from causing harm to things considered offensive just changes the situation. Many are still offended and believe that people should not be viewing this kind of material because it only serves to desensitize us, so when we are confronted with the real situation we are less shocked. But it's the fact that it's not real that allows us to see humor in it.

I can give you several reasons why I personally watch offensive cartoons (South Park, Family Guy, Drawn Together, etc.):
1. They push the envelope of what is considered acceptable. I remember a few years ago when cable used to censor "goddamn", but since South Park started saying "God...damn" and nobody really objected, it's now considered okay (within certain limits).
2. Low standard of humor. It doesn't take much to make people laugh.
3. There is no "why". The jokes are either funny or they're not.

I think children watch the cartoons for the shock value they provide, especially for their friends or parents to be shocked at. However, adults are the ones that usually watch them and get the joke. It's the children who are watching and believe me they don't need that kind of role model. Parents need to get a "back bone" and not view the cartoons with the children around. Adult cartoons should be only available to "adults" on adult channels.

I dont think that adult swim is offensive. Its adult humor. Its funny. If something is funny its going to be entertaining to you. If someone finds it offensive then dont watch it. South Park can be offensive but its still funny and its been on for years so obviously people like it. But thats obviously not on adult swim.

Because it's adult humor. Corny spongebob gets annoying, it's fun seeing people use adult humor and we can relate to their every day thing. And people are very interested in s3x and drugs and violence. And most of them are really funny and totally out their, their just something else for adults.

If they were offensive to everyone they wouldn't be . They are entertaining because of the shock value and satirical nature.

Family Guy is a good example of this. In cartoons you can have a lot more unrealistic things, flashbacks etc
