How far away are we from another Holocaust?

Muslims are the new Jews. Over 65 years ago (although Jews have been persecuted for centuries ,- Russian pogroms etc) there was an open increase in hostility towards Jewish people and that led to the Holocaust. I can see many parallels of this with Muslims today.

Women with veils have been attacked and their veils pulled off. Although I think it would never happen because people now would never let it happen -you can't help but wonder. The media has whipped up a frenzy about Islam, publishing the wrong facts all the time.

Also to any racist bigots replying- if you have any comments like 'go back home then, you dirty Muslims' then go crawl back under that filty rock you crawled out from.

I didn't say Muslims don't do anything wrong. I think it is wrong of sucide bombers to bomb countries that haven't done them harm directly.
Monkey Harris-I don't care if you don't believe in my God. What has that got do with anything I asked? What have I said that made you answer in that way? Because some muslim men are bombing countries that they believe have tried to interfere with what is happening in Palestine. What has that got to do with me as an individual? Did I do it? Did I say I agreed with it? Also because women are wearing veils does that mean they can't accept that you don't believe our God? Who cares? Muslims don't care that other people don't belive in Allah. Why would we? The wars that Muslims are involved in are do with land and territory.

To whoever said Muslim women are being stoned for being raped- where did you hear this from? People get stoned for adultery in Arab countries.

WHY WOULD MUSLIMS PERPETRATE A HOLOCAUST?

I know that Muslims are able - very able of great crimes against humanity. I am not trying to ask for sympathy. As a person I don't like any sort of attention and sympathy. People persecute each other all over the world. Did I torture anybody in Sudan? I do not agree with it. I will be the first to accept flaws in Muslims, obviously they are people. They do many bad things. I am merely responding to the media attention Muslims have received since 9/11. Excuse me if I didn't make clear that I am not defending every Muslim good and bad. I have repeated myself over and over. My people are bombing your people, my people are slaughtering yours. Your people are torturing mine- its relentless and endless.

I can't answer for everyone just as you can't answer all of my questions.

If you want to blame me because someone who believes in Allah like I do is killing people in Sudan go ahead. I don't hate Paul Newman because Jews are killing Muslims. I love that man.

BMCR- I was just adding the Paul Newman thing in as a joke- I knew it had no relevance. I know his father was Jewish but his mother was not, also that doesn't matter what matters was that he personally did not practice or care for either religion himself.

I was only trying to get a discussion going with this question. I know making parallels with such racism and the Holocaust was taking it a bit far. But having rarely experianced racism in Britain. I personally don't feel persecuted but my father is a taxi driver and he has been attacked twice for being a Muslim and it made me so angry that someboby would want to hurt a 60 year old man like that. I know this could happen to anyone , black, white, Christina, Hindu, etc. But there have been many other things because when people don't understand the difference between religion and culture and they get wound up with what they hear in the media and take it out on you because you are the foreigner. You end up getting blamed for everything

As to my on continuing point of holding you accountable for what YOU SAID....

The truth of the matter is that the Jews are the new Jews. In many places, especially your country of allegedly tolerant England, anti semitism has greatly increased. Where I live, Canada, we are pretty good in that respect, much better than England. Interestingly enough, they published a study on racism here that noted that while anti Muslim racism increased since 9/11, neverthless there were two groups that were subject to more racism: blacks #2, and Jews #1.
I suspect that you will find the comparison pretty much the same in your country, namely, that anti semetic incidents far far outnumber any anti Muslim incidents.

And another thing; Your logic is highly flawed. Why?
Racism does not equal another Holocaust!
In other words, for something like the Holocaust to happen, you need something like Nazi Germany to happen. That is obviously not happening in any civilized Western country (yes, including America!)

So, it seems to me that all you are develping is somewhat of a persecusion complex. This, btw, can be somewhat dangerous.

Oh, and for the record, Paul Newman's dad was Jewish but his mom was not, so, according to Judaism, he's not Jewish.

We are in the midst of another Holocaust. The new Jews are Sudanese Christians and the new Nazis are Muslim Arabs. Keep things in perspective. An assault on dignity, like the veil incident, is wrong, but it is far short of genocide. Perhaps it is not fair, but Muslims are not going to be popular as long as some of their number are engaged in terrorism and genocide and doing so in the name of Islam. The problem Muslims face is not a problem with PR, so please don't make excuses and rationalizations. Fix the problem. How about setting up a Muslim charity to help the Darfur victims?

I am soo sick and tired of certain religions/faiths thinking that they have the moral right to claim "persecution".

As a Muslim. you're upset about women getting their veils ripped off (and no, I don't think it's right).

As a Black Woman. I'm upset that there's another holocaust happening right now, but it isn't "fashionable" enough to arouse too much sympathy.

It's happening in a place called Darfur, in a country called Sudan, on a continent called Africa. Ironically enough, the perpetrators of this holocaust, who are slaughtering men, women, and children are people who call themselves Muslims, whose women wear veils.

Judging by the level of informed debate, I thik there will be some difficult times for all.

Palestine has already been wiped off the map. Iraq not longer exists as an entity and the palestinians are living in an open prison which is being turned into a concentration camp.

yes i agree some facts about muslims are taken the wrong way, but it is true that a lot of the terrorist activity we see today is being conducted by people calling themselves MUSLIM.

i dont think they should be called Muslim terroists or catholic terrorists or any other religious name. just terrorists. calling them by a religious name is wrong, and gives them justification, helps them in a small matter called "divide and conquer".

Well, I cannot equate veils being ripped off women to the millions of Jews killed during WWII, or even the kurds being killed in Iraq, or what happened in Yugoslavia in '94/'95, or eveing what's happening now in Darfur. Another Holocaust just happened, and is happening RIGHT NOW.
