Canadians have paid their taxes to support our system of public health insurance. But all too often, they find themselves waiting too long for critical procedures

Socialism does not work, no matter where it is tried. People in Sweden finally got tired of their socialist government and elected more conservative representatives.

Capitalism works. People get to work for, and keep most of, their money. People get to make their own decisions about how they want to live their lives.

Socialism is costly. The government runs everything so the big, bloated government has to be paid for by workers.

Tommy Douglas had a dream that we all benefit from regardless of how much we complain. I will admit the system needs a great deal of fine tuning. Wait times are long there are huge over expenditures in administration. The system is understaffed. However, in the most dire of circumstances you will receive the care you need regardless of you socio-economic status. At the end of the day a catastrophic even in your life will also not be a massive financial burden.

Socialized health care works quite well in many European nations, and Canada is attempting to tweak the system to work with more fluidity and better access. It at this point is just a waiting game.

As a side note Canada is still highly capitalist, it is a place right now where industry is booming and there is a lot of money to be hoarded.

Well, "Super" it would seem that you have answered your own question:

"why is the Socialist system in Canada failing its people?"

"Socialist system" - there is you answer.

The "Socialist system" has failed around the world in every single country in which it has been applied. In some, the results have been simply economic failure and hardship but in many, the results of Socialism have included the rape and destruction of the environment, war, famine, the deaths of millions, concentration camps, slavery and on and on.

Not only does one see the horrible failures of Socialism in the countries it has ruined such as Cuba, North Korea, Russia, Eastern Europe, etc, but one can also observe the dramatic difference in countries which have either openly or covertly thrown Socialism into the trashcan, i.e. the People's Republic of China and the British Labour Party!

Because of their National Health Care System, Canada will be a Third World Nation in 20 years.

It's odvious, it doesn't work. One of the problems America faced in the 90's was a president that wanted so badly to bring America into that type of system, thankfully, it didn't work out the way he/she planned. It's proven time and time again that the heavely taxed countries who promise health care often times can't provide what they offer.

It's not failing. That's just its weak point.

For every person you hear about who has died waiting for treatment, there are a thousand you don't hear about who got the treatment and wouldn't have been able to afford it in a capitalist system.
