When you public speak make sure you know your topic inside out. So well that you're an expert on the topic. Being an expert will make you more relaxed and more confident in your ability to speak in public.

Statistics show that more people are afraid of speaking in public than are afraid to die. You are not alone.
Think about there, most people would rather DIE than get in front of people and talk.
Practice, when you get up in front find a few friendly faces, use your hands and be ready to move around.
