Internet is already way beyond glorified ham radio. Would you say that TV is glorified radio? Are cars glorified horse and buggy?

Absolutely.
Ebay is the killer ap for the internet. It opens global markets, reduces the flow to landfills, puts money in the pocket of the little guy.
If nothing else, ebay proves the internet is beyond radio w/ a keyboard.
But, being able to download a syllabus for a class...renew your drivers license...research everything from pop-culture to hard science...The internet is amazing.
