none, because i don't think god made a mistake in how people are made when they are born. i think they are born "correct" and should not be changed. i think it's mutilation or amputation or something bad like that.

I have two sons, both circumcised. One was circumcised with a plastic cap/ring thing that did not take off very much foreskin and so he is left with a very loose circumcision. Half the head is covered with a wad of puffy skin with only the extreme tip showing. My other son was circumcised the regular way and has the scar line placed well back behind the rim of the head. He has a very tight circumcision. So YES there are different types of circumcisions. If i got to choose I would choose the tight one.

Well, it appears no one knows what you are talking about. You can have a circumcision done (medically) by using a rubber ring to hold the foreskin, a string, or freehand. The doctor used a very sharp scalpel not scissors so that the skin doesn't tear. On my oldest, his pediatrician used the rubber ring. It is easiest to use and heal. I have a friend whose son was the same age. She did not want her son circumcised but her husband did, so their doctor used a loose string/ freehand (I think) and left a kinda shorter foreskin rather than no foreskin. With my youngest, our insurance didn't cover it, so he is uncircumcised. They are 3 & 5 and have not noticed the difference yet. Your best bet is to research the methods and go with what works best for you. I did and feel comfortable with my decisions. Good luck.

My husband (at the time) and I chose not to circumcise our son. We saw a video of it when I was 7 mos. pregnant with him, and it was just ghastly! I couldn't do that to my baby boy! I did question my decision when he started getting older, but was comforted by a urologist saying that circumcision is basically thought of as cosmetic. He hasn't complained, my son, who is almost 20 now. But he does need to be taught to clean it properly.
Plus my husband and my father were both not circumcised.

Oh what you mean was...circumcision by a doctor or by a traditional way?As far as I knew the traditional way is quite scary as they used a certain type of cutting knife(jungle bolo or something) while the doctor uses a scissor to cut it...they said, the look of IT will be more good/nice if it was done traditionally...
My son is still too young for that, and I have not decide yet where he is going to circumcise.

Our son is not circumcised. We chose not to do this because 1) We didn't want to put the baby through excruciating pain, and 2) His pediatrician said that it's not necessary.

We decided not to have our son circumsized because it is medically unnecessary. There is evidence that shows that uncircumsized boys are at greater risks for UTIs and HIV infection but it is an extremely small number. Let's talk about all the botched circumcisions and the complications that arise from those!
If our son decides to get circumsized when he is older, then we will support his decision to do so. In the meantime, he is uncut, happy and healthy.

Although I didn't know that there were different types of circumcisions, both my sons have it, to look more like Dad. A very recent study has indicated that circumcision cuts down on possible infectious diseases, but that is an age old argument that is still open to question.

My father and brother were both uncut. They did fine. They were married and I never heard of a problem. I'm glad I had 3 girls so I didn't have to have that argument. The worse thing that happened to my brother is when he zipped up once, and got it caught in the zipper when he was a little boy. I still remember his crying and howling when we were getting him unstuck. Otherwise, it's no big deal. But I'd say that I'd think that THAT would be preferable to getting a more delicate part of him damaged with a similar accident.

None.
My son is uncircumcised. As a mother I could not put him through the pain of it.
I don't understand how a society can be OK with male circumcision. In my opinion it's barbaric!
We don't get our females circumcised, so why do we get our males circumcised!?!?!
To the person who said babies don't ever cry.... My first son WAS circumcised... HE CRIED.

My sons have have the foreskin completely removed. However my younger brothers had their circumsions preformed by a mohel (I hope that I am spelling that correctly and if not I'm very sorry I don't mean any disrespect). A mohel is jewish and they only clip the foreskin so that it is easier to pull it back and clean it. I chose to have it completely removed because I believe it is the "norm". People, there is more than one type of circumcision, look it up before you answer the question. Sheesh!
