I am really struggling to get the wire brake pad spring back into the holes in the caliper on a Ford KA. Does anyone know how its done. Help would be gratefully appreciated.

Go to www.autozone.com. Look up a Ford escort(1998) in repair guide. It has similar pad springs. Good photos

Not sure of the exact layout on Ka, but on previous others I did it by fitting the springs with the shoes off, whittling little wooden pegs and jamming them in the holes to stop the spring hooks jumping out, then levering the shoes over the hub with a long, strong screwdriver/metal bar. Settle shoes in place and remove little wooden pegs!

Sorry! Just re-read your question and you're talking about something completely different! Pretend I didn't bother! :o)

just put it in one end and put the rounded bit against the stop the other end and push the end of the wire into place with a screwdriver
