priority in land charges is to screw you for as much as possible see a council official they will tell you

As I understand it 'priority period' relates to registered land (Land Charges are only in respect of unregistered land).
A purchaser who completes within a specified period after an official search (Priority period) is not affected by any ammendments made to the register in the interval.
