US American;
I love Persian cats...
I own many Persian carpets...
if you mean peoples typically recognized today as Iranian...
I would say they are progressive and righteous.
They are as unique as they are devout.
Spritual and friendly.
And are they sorely deluded about what America is and is not.
They are being lead astray by their own leadership and will continue to suffer sanctions until they come to terms with global expectations.
Their military is NOT that great, nor that prepared, nor that big.
They are not prepared to defend their country from any type of attack...not even one launched by Israel.
Consequently, there's no global room for Persian arrogance or international defiance.
...However - I will say this whole
"burn the American flag thing" that goes on whenever something happens globally - makes them look really ignorant and backwards.

They are a nice people who have a not so nice government. Hopefully, in the not to distant future, moderates will take power and separate religion and politics. A Theocracy works to the benefit of the religious ideology not the people. I am Scottish. The good news of today is that the BBC World Service is to start broadcasting to Iran in Farsi.

Do you mean Iranian people? If so I think we in the West do not know much, they used to be ruled by an extravagant dictator called the Shah and now they have a semi democratic government (in that religious considerations are followed too much) plus they have the Bomb, right?
