The only person who is going to start WW3 is George W. Bush and his cronies with all their posturing and threatening military action. If I was North Korea I'd be wanting some nukes of my own too for protection after seeing American foreign policy in action. Even Dubya is not stupid enough to start a war against a nation who have the bomb, which is the very reason why countries like Iran and North Korea want one - not to use it, but to use as protection and a bargaining tool. The mere threat of nuclear analiation was enough to keep the USA and USSR from obliterating large chunks of Europe during the Cold War, so hopefully, this will go the same way, North Korea's economy will implode, and the West will win this one without ever firing a single shot. That guy running North Korea is no more insane than at least a dozen other leaders across the planet today and there is no way he is ever going to nuke South Korea, Japan or anywhere else unless America strikes first. If Bush and Blair can keep their itchy trigger fingers away from the big red button then common sense should prevail and some kind of peace will reign in SE asia.

Only if they have built a time machine and gone back to 1945!
World War Three started as soon as World War Two finished and then the USA and the Soviet Union started carving up the world between them.

No they want the world to respect them as a world power.Plus after Mr.Bush called them one of the Axis of Evil they are scared he may try to over throw the government. They feel with a nuclear war head Bush may think twice.Talk about putting your foot in your mouth.

N Korea has gione to war with no-one. It's only the USA that goes to war with others.
If the USA got rid of its nukes, then no-one else would need them, but its im,portant for other countries to have some sort of defence against a drunkard in charge of the nuke button.

the way i think the situation will fold out as follows:
USA: you must get rid of your nuclear bombs. You are threat to the world.
N.Korea: We have weapons for OUR protection against future wars and stuff
USA: give up your WoMD, or we'll bomb you
N. Korea: No! Seems to me that you have done more damage to Iraq with your missles, guns and idiot soldiers who will follow orders no knowing they are killing civillians, than i would with my bomb. At least i am not stupid.
Then USA screws with the N Korea (like it did with iraq), which will drive the N Korean govt to use their nuclear bombs on USA. UK then will back up USA, whcih in turn will also get bombed.
When will these poeple learn? Bombs don't kill people, stupid govt do...

When India & Pakistan and SA did it they didn't tell anyone till after it was over.
Isreal still didnt tell anyone but they for sure have it.
Isreal bombed Iraq in 1982 for attempting to build a power plant supplied by USSR for civilian use.
Who is right ?- no one, its all political posturing.

The N.Koreans will know when WW.III. has started - they will hear a mighty bang and look up to see a very bright light and die wishing they hadn't tried to be so clever/stupid.
Ditto the Iranians with the Israelis teaching them a lesson.

NO, we probably will though. Every country should be free to pursue its own agenda within it's borders,, who are we to tell another government, elected or not, how to run their country?
It should only be an issue IF and WHEN they threaten anyone.
We tried to tell the Iraqi's how to live, look at the mess we made of that!
