Because she is still involved with rori's dad christopher and rori does not like it . She wants her mom to be happy. Rori thinks Luke is a better choice for her mom.

If you are watching it on ABC Family than you are watching reruns - which the reason is not about Lorelai and Chirstorper (yet - that's in the new season). I'm guessing it's either when Rory slept with Dean or when she quit college.

she's mad at her mom because her mom wanted her to continue college but she didn't want to. Rory ended up living at her grand parents. You do know that those are reruns. They're showing the 7th season on the CW network.
