Yes mate. I believe they should be punished! I have heard some horrid stories of animals being tortured. I cant even watch the RSPCA adverts, i cant sleep worrying about it! I hate people who hurt poor defenceless animals, i hope i never see someone doing it cuz i cant guarantee that they would get away alive.

I knew of a case in England where two New Zealanders tortured and a cat to such a horrendous degree that it had to be put down "because they were bored". They were planning to leave the country before their court appearance, but somebody alerted the police and they were re-arrested separately. The first was given a six month prison sentence by a bench of magistrates who didn't even call for reports before imposing that, the maximum sentence available at the time. The second one appeared before a different bench of magistrates and was sentenced to six weeks' imprisonment. Naturally, the first one appealed against sentence and they were out after a few weeks in prison. The sentencing powers of the courts are very restricted when it comes to cruelty to animals. But what are those two young men up to nowadays, I wonder? If you torture a harmless cat because you are bored, how might you treat fellow human beings, given a chance?

Life sentence?? A little extreme I think. Its perfectly ok to murder unborn children, if they're not innocent, who is?
And what do you mean murder? are you talking about abuse, or any animal being killed, such as hunting or food supply animals. In China, they eat dogs and cats.
Abuse is a different story and anyone who hurts and kills and animal for the fun of it, should be put in prison, but I think life is ridiculous. Make them work in an animal shelter for 10 years or something.

It's an animal, not a person. I think killing someone else's dog should be a crime, but not just killing dogs. There are too many already. Torturing a dog is another matter. I think that should be a crime, and it is one. I don't think that deserves a lifetime jail sentence either, though.
I am a dog lover. I have one, myself. I am also in favor of neutering and spaying dogs to prevent their numbers rising. But I'm also a realist. Too many dogs roaming around is not good for us or the dogs.

yes most differently no one has the right to end any ones life animal or human
if you kill a dog you get a fine maybe a 6 months sentence but if you kill a person you have your name in paper and you at least serve 8/12 years in prison the world is fucked up
sort it out ppl

We are running out of room in jail as it is. I'm not going to pay tax dollars so some dude who killed a puppy can rot in jail for the rest of his life.

I extremely love animals. I extremely have cats, canines, cows, sheep, horses, goats, chickens, and turkeys. they are all pets. We in no way butcher something in this "farm". in spite of if, they don't seem to be human beings. (In lot of approaches they are extra perfect than human beings although !). a individual who takes the existence of a human merits existence in penitentiary...or dying. a individual who kills an animal isn't a "murderer". If there is torture of the animal in contact, or if it is finished "purely for relaxing" that should be punished critically with some penitentiary time and fines. I do sense that torturing animals, or in simple terms killing them for the relaxing of it is a precursor to crimes on human beings and those human beings ought to be on probation to maintain a watch on them. each and every case is diverse and could be taken care of that way. There are some motives to take the existence of an animal, as long because it is finished humanely. i even have in no way had to kill something, and that i don't think of I ever ought to.

No,
Even people who murder humans dont always get that, even if they do they seem to be out in 10 years.
They should certainly get a good kicking and a stay in prison but not life.
