Their quiet verse/LOUD chorus dynamic has been copied by everyone from Radiohead to Feeder to (sodding) Coldplay and the dual vocalist (ranty male/wistful female) has also been copied by everyone, including Ash and the Beautiful South and the Subways.

Very much so. The loud/soft/loud/soft dynamic that is/was their trademark can be heard in much of the newer rock that is popular today. Kurt Cobain would have never wrote "Smells Like Teen Spirit" if the Pixies had not been around during his impressionable years.
