A person's mind has two aspects. Logical and intuitional....
In an adult, the intuitional gets subdued due to predominance of the logical aspect , since it needed more to handle situations in life.
This intuitional seeks expression through emotions since it does not follow any logic. So, the emotions mostly constitute the intuitional expressions of a person.
When a person views a beautiful scene, or a touching theme of a song or a poem, it overwhelms the person. Tears may start flowing... The innocent bystander may even ask a logical question "Something wrong ?"... And the tearful person may even require time to reply suitably to reassure the asker ! This is emotion, where the viewed object.. theme, scene, etc has touched the intuitions, way beyond logical reach and emotional tears found expression !
