She was supposed to pay $300 a month + utilities and doesn't. She won't get a job, lives on her child support. Leaves dirty dishes, greasy stove, clutter all over and calls me a miserable old ***** because I TRY to keep my home clean. When asked to leave she ignors me. Has damaged my relationship with my grandchildren by making me "the bad guy." Smokes drugs, gambles, and has stolen from me. It feels like a hopeless nightmare and I don't know how to get her out of my home.
She refuses to cooperate with housework or just plain rule of the home. My back yard, porch, every room is strewn with her clutter. The floor of (my) her bedroom has literal garbage, cig butts and filth everywhere and has never been clean in the year and a half she's been here. She needs help and I need her out and neither seems to come to fruition. She gets great ideas that are fleeting. What do I do?

I would personally show her where the door is and make sure it doesn't hit her in the a** on the way out or you will have another expense. You have tried to help and she has taken advantage of it. Forget her. Live your own life your way, you are no longer responsible for her. SHE needs to grow up and take some responsibility. If she threatens you or anything, report her to the police. If she truly cared about you, she would do what she promised.

i felt terribly sorry for you honestly but at the same time i even doubt if the authority will be able to help or not cause if they are this world will be at better stake. i don't usually do this cause you are already in such a terrible situation but honestly parents really ask for this cause if they would have make things right in the first place when the kids are young they won't be damaging peoples' life. i don't grow up here but and i don't have a close mind set as well but to see locals growing up and living life this.....culture shock!

Find out from your local police department what is involved in serving an eviction notice, then do it. That will give her, I believe 30 days to get out, if she doesn't, then you can have her physically removed from your house by the police. I know this sounds extreme, but perhaps it's what is needed to light a fire under your daughter's butt and get her off it. Good luck.

This is what I would do.
Go to any store & request boxes. Go home & start packing her belongings, put everything belonging to her in the boxes including the trash.
Take the boxes to the back porch & stack them. Then tell her either you get your act together or take those boxes and get out.
Hope this helps.

It's hard and I am removed from the situation but maybe some tough love. If she is doing drucgs get her into rehab. Take custody of the kids, it isn't safe for them. I guess you are just going to have to follow your heart. you have to remove her from the kids it isn't safe. Social Services or the police. I hope everyting works out.

sounds like she needs help and will not volunteer to get it on her own. if youput her out and she is this way imagine how your grandkids will turn out...any how she lives with you call child welfare and tell them who you are and explain the situation,,after that tell them you want to remain anonymous and have them look into this problem for you. they will order her to a program of drug rehab and possibly give you the temporary custody of the children if you want them..this way she gets out and gets help together and your grandchildren do not have to suffer any more than they already do--do you really want them to suffer more and become like her?? CALL child welfare in your area now

You have to take her to court. You can't just kick someone out especially if she gets mail there. It's against the law.
