First the song is by the Hollies. The song talks about man helping man no matter the sacrifices required.

It means my brother is not a burden to me. I don't recall the Beatle's song, but I think the same definition would apply, she is a burden, trouble, worry, problem!

Don't buy into the burdon thing, He ain't heavy is a reference to his fat sister, the line originally went; "That fat pig ate my Farina, MOM! Shelly ate all my Farina, I hope you choke on it!"
