Suppose the network goes down while you are rearranging the blocks of your disk. It is a recipe for disaster, that is why it is not supported.

You will have to sign onto the system that owns the disk in question.

OS doesnt support that if u really want to do that connect to the system Remote Desktop administration in windows
Rdesktop in linux then u can do that not only in lan but from internet also.

make sure u have permissions for access
