Its straightforward algebra then trigonometry. See how. {2x/(a million-x^2)} + x = (2x + x-x^3)/(a million+x^2) = = (3x-x^3)/(a million+x^2), stunning? Then. a million- {2x/(a million-x^2)}x = a million - (2x^2)/(a million-x^2) = {(a million-x^2) - {2x^2)}/(a million-x^2), stunning? Now take the ratio and on RHS a million-x^2 cancells. Now use x = tan@ as you needed. Then tan2@ = {2x/(a million-x^2)} isn't it a relaxing to have sound algebraic understanding in Trig?
