If your baby has a strong heartbeat and you have been going for regular check ups then you should have no reason to believe that anything is wrong. Maybe the baby has already kicked and you haven't realised it yet, it is the most peculiar feeling and when it first happened to me I wasn't sure if she was kicking or not, its almost like a tickling in your tummy, its not until a little later on in your pregnancy that you get great thuds and can actually see your tummy move! If you are that concerned make an appointment with your midwife but otherwise relax, the thing about pregnancy is that it is the unknown, I promise it will get to a stage where your baby kicks so much you will long for the time to not only hold your precious child but to have the feeling that your tummy is actually your own again x

Its OK if this is your first baby, you should be feeling bub over the next week or so, and as long as bubs heart beat is strong then there is nothing to worry about, I am 20 weeks and have only just started feeling bub move over the past week and this is my 4th pregnancy and my 3rd baby so I have felt it earlier then the first time. It feels like bubbles at first, but then over the weeks it gets to more of a sweeping movement, I would say kind of like when you move your tongue against the inside of your cheek but very lightly, so you can't feel it on the outside.
You should be feeling the bubbles by the end of week 22. Its a wonderful feeling but just remember that in a few weeks when the kicks are strong and disturbing your sleep that you couldn't wait for these movements I have to remind myself all the time I COULDN'T wait for the feeling now I'm woken by them.
Congratulations and I hope you feel them very soon. Don't worry it will be ok.

You're probably not paying that close of attention. If you're up and around during the day, you rock the baby to sleep & you don't pay much attention to when it kicks & punches. Many 1st time moms dismiss the movements as something else (like tummy gurgling, etc).
The movements won't be as strong as they are in the 3rd trimester, but you should be feeling them if you're being attentive. Chances are baby is just more active when you're sleeping. Lay down for awhile before you go to sleep, a glass of milk helps. You'll feel the baby move.
As long as your baby has a healthy heartbeat, I wouldn't worry. Could also be that your little one just isn't as wiley as the others. One of my twins is like that right now. I feel one all the time, and the other not so much. I bought one of those fetal dopplers off Ebay, because I was getting so worried. But, both are fine - they just have different personalities.

I wondered about feeling my baby move but was experiencing a lot of 'gas' in my stomach, then I realised it was the baby not the gurgles! Try lying on your back, and really 'listen' to your body. It's the strangest feeling at first - some people compare it to little butterflies, but as I said, I felt like it was air moving within me.
20 weeks is the earliest you'll feel anything, so if they baby's heartbeat is strong, just wait a short while - you'll soon feel the most delightful feeling in the world!

confident, this is thoroughly prevalent! With my first being pregnant, i did not experience something till around then, and then it replaced into purely little flutters, like gas bubbles in my abdomen. It relies upon on the guy once you will start to experience it. in case you're particularly nervous, call your OB and that they are able to take heed to for the heart beat or do an ultrasound. Being 21 weeks, you ought to have been in at present, so in the event that they are not nervous, it would be ok. i understand the style you experience, i'm pregnant with my 2d and with the two I complication approximately each and every thing. stable success and congratulations!

No, 20 to 21 weeks for first movements is just an average, are you very big or quite light, all kinds of things can push the average up or down, relax if the Doc says heat beat os strong, your little will kick you sooner or later. Best feeling in the world.

If your doctor says everythings fine, then I'm sure the baby is ok. This being your first you may just not realize it's movement that you're feeling. I would still talk to the doctor about it though just to be on the safe side. This is my second and I felt her move at around 12 weeks.

If it's your first baby it's not uncommon to have not felt it yet, I didn't feel my first for a long time, and I think I missed the first feeling which were like butterfly flutters, if you're having your regular checks and everything is fine, then you have no reason to worry.
Good luck with the rest of your preganancy.

If the heartbeat is normal, it should be fine. It took me a while to feel my baby move because I didn't know what it felt like when she moved

it takes a while in some cases and 9 times out of 10 you have felt it but didn't notice it or didn't know what it was. when i was pregnant with my first, it was at a very young age and i had no clue what to expect, my mom described it best for me, it feels like a little flutter in your stomach. by the way it is the best feeling in the world and the most precious!!! good luck with your pregnancy and the years to come!!! holly
