ePregnancy.com might be a good site for you to check out, along with the book "What to Expect When You're Expecting". Although as I am sure you've noticed, everyone's pregnancy is individual and slightly different. There is no such thing as an all inclusive list of things that will or might happen to you on the journey to b-day.
Sleep pattern disturbances are very common, as are the odd dreams. They only mean that you are experiencing physical changes and hormone fluctuations- like you didn't already know that, right? It is normal to be so tired sometimes you will need a nap to recooperate from the nap you took after you woke up in the morning. Then there will be nights when you just can't settle in and are so tired you could scream. The more you worry and concentrate on the weirdness of the dreams or the difficulty in getting to sleep, the more likely you are to have a problem. Get into a routine of a calming bedtime practice- a warm bath, low lighting, and light reading, maybe with a warm drink of herbal tea with milk. Watch what you eat just before bedtime, as a loaded down belly full of spicy food is an invitation to odd dreams and a restless night, if not a case of indigestion. Play some instrumental music, and tuck into bed with all the pillows you need to prop up whatever needs it. Sometimes a fan helps to mask noises and create a grey noise hum that is soothing. Another suggestion is to sprinkle your sheets with a favorite talc or powder, baby powder tends to make most of us relax because we associate it with pleasant things. But any scent you like will work.
Reassure yourself a dream is just a dream, and doesn't signify anything more than that. You may be feeling a bit anxious about the whole pregnancy, and that may be what is fueling the dreams- but that is normal too. Try to make the period before bedtime quiet and relaxing time, as much as possible.
I sympathize, as I had the same troubles on occasion with my pregnancys. Hopefully, you will be able to find somethings to help you relax and get some sleep. And honestly, don't worry about the dreams having some sort of deep meaning. They don't. They just mean you are one tired pregnant lady in need of a good night's sleep. Hope you can relax and get some soon!

Yes it was the same for me. At the end of the pregnancy just before you give birth you can seem to find some energy to start nesting they say, Anyway the things that worked for me are if you have a partner sleep in different beds, it really does help also get a ipod/Walkman and listen to same relaxing music or a talking book. Its getting into that frame of relaxing before sleeping
plus have a bath before bed, and if possible have a sleep during the day. Try to keep off the caffeine before bed. As for the dreams that's very normal but they don't last forever.

Hey im with you there - 24 weeks into my second pregnancy and thats the worst bit, tossing and turning all night. I dreamt last night that I went out in a skirt and when I looked down my leg hairs were so long I could wrap them around my calves! Then I was trying to hack the hairs off with a rusty old razor I found in my bag!!!! LOL! I hope you werent eating when you read that ;o) RE websites, I use www.pampers.com if you register you get a weekly email with all the bits and bobs like size, weight, whats happening, tips for you etc. I really look forwards to mine. They keep mailing even after you have the baby, weekly at first then monthly, I still get tips about my little boy come through and hes 2 1/2 now. Also they send you £4 voucher too. Best of luck, remember your not the only one out there........ p.s. have you gotten the leg cramps yet at night - wowee they hurt! My hubby asked me why I woke up swearing my head off!!!!

Yes! during my early pregnancy I could not stay awake, but now I am in my last trimester and find it difficult to sleep, due to size, heartburn and needing the loo! The best thing to do is to cat nap if you can, grab a wee nap when you get home from work maybe if that is convenient and take time to put up your feet and rest, remember your body is working hard doing a very important job. My theory to change in sleep is that it is natures way of preparing us for sleepless nights once the baby comes!
Good luck!

Hi. I had trouble sleeping and very weird dreams when I did sleep for the first 12 weeks. My Dr. told me to take 1 Tylenol PM, and, let me tell you, it worked wonders. I would sleep at night, and since I only took one, I was not groggy at all during the day. It also made me feel much better during day, because sleep is everything. In my dreams, I was always missing a flight to somewhere! Last night I dreamed I missed a flight to Minnesota! Weird!

Pregnancy is usually the most trying period in a family life where every thing depends on the undderstanding of the partners involve. More often some little things like sleeping positions could only be counted minimal but very essential. It is very important to understand this for the baby's comfort rather than for the mother's comfort. Sleeping on each side is preferable than on your back or on your stomach. I strongly advise that you rather sleep on a position that is more comfortable for the baby than what you feel is appropriate for you. The baby's comfort means more comfort for you.

OMG, me too! I had the worst dream last night! Also, trouble sleeping. so tired but I am very restless and cannot get a good night sleep. I wake up often. Your doctor can give you advice on sleeping better, such as sleeping on your left side and by putting a pillow inbetween your legs.
