Does anyone have a really good relationship, almost as friends, with their mother-in-law, and why?

What makes this almost impossible relationship click, I have with some and some I have not. How can you defuse a natural jealousy a wife might have, what characteristics would you like for your mother-in-law have to make you like her. Just how would you want the perfect person to be if that would be possible????

Well, I think that the secret of a tight relationship is acceptance. You know the person and you accept him like he is. We should believe nobody is an angel (How ever we loved him, and However hi seems perfect). And we should also believe that nobody is a devil (even if he's a person who appeared on TV in a crime or something...). If we accepted people and new that they have their own hidden secrets (like us), we would really create tight relationships.

I do my mother in law is the best. She is so gratefull that her son found someone so terriffic. We go shopping together we have lunch and sometimes we go and have our hair done and nails done together . she has always said that she loves having a daughter. She never had any of her own. She sure treats me better than my own mother.

Its funny really .My ex fiance`s mother is like a best friend to me.i call her everyday like I call my mom. But my husbands mother and I have a civil realtionship.

i think that so many of them can share their feelings with their parents but with not their mother in law bcoz they may think that if i ask them this they may think anything else.so,they share their fellings with their parents than anyone else
