I agree, therapy. Jail is for people who are dangerous to society... she is only dangerous to herself and her baby. She is also probably really messed up and in a bad place and needs therapy... I don't know what jail would do for her except just fill up our jails more and there'd be less space for violent criminals who threaten society.

I think both. But on the other hand, her parents should go to jail as well ( if she is that young or as young as you imply) Where were they? I feel no pity what so ever for someone just willing to throw a baby in the garbage when there are soo many other choices out there. I agree she needs help, mentally...but on the other hand I would think anyone over the age of 10 would know that doing that would be wrong.

She needs therapy and lots of it. I think I might even say jail as well. It is terrible to just throw away a baby. No matter how scared there are plenty of places safe places to leave a child if you dont want it. But to leave the child for dead is just unthinkable.

Hmmm... I guess that both is probably a better answer. Otherwise more young mothers will think that if they kill the baby, that a little therapy and everything's all hunky dory again. I think we sould offer more support, and places to bring a baby like that, but I think that just therapy may send out the wrong message.

i th ink they should go to both...i mean if they harmed an innocent child what else will push them to the break? I dont think they can be trusted because they cant be honest with everyone around them(they cant tell people there pregnant so what else would they lie a bout?) Major therapy and major jail time and maybe then they can figure out "right from wrong"

1. I think an eye for an eye!
2. Her parents should face whatever consequences that she faces also.
3. How about therapy and then when she is eighteen, jail for a few years.
4. The parents should face murder and endangerment charges for not being there for their daughter!

Frankly I think that she should be tied up in a industrial strength garbage bag and left to die.

There is absolutly NO EXCUSE for throwing a baby in the trash. You can leave a baby at a hospital with no questions asked. You could have also given it up for adoption or had an abortion. If you have no regard for human life then I have no regard for your life.

At least an aborted baby doest have to freeze or starve to death.

Therapy indeed.

That poor girl, she obviously has no support network, no one to help her come to terms with what was going on and the consequences of her actions.

I think the guilt she'll have to live with is far worse than a spell in jail.

I can't even imagine what or why she would do this. I think both of them should happen. Anyone who puts a baby in a dumpster to die is obviously disturbed. And she should be put into therepy first, and once she completes her therepy she should spend time in jail. After all what do you think that everyone who kills someone should only be put into therepy and not spend any jail time. I think she needs both therepy and some jail time. That is my answer.

I just don't no how people can do that, there is a strong bond between mother and baby months before the birth. I have such strong feelings for my son and would do anything to keep him safe. He means the world to me and always will. Why don't these girls get a termination so things don't have to get this far!
