She should be helped. She obviously felt that there was no other choice, maybe it is the responsible adults who need help too, help to avoid putting this girl in such a position, a. that she got pregnant in the first place, and b. that they were so unapproachable, she couldn't tell anyone what was happening. I guess she did it as hse was too frightened to ask for help.
Too late in this example, but we as a society must reinforce the idea that you don't have sex without contraception.

When I was in college a girl from the dorms did this. She got jail time. It wasn't about therapy at that point because she had conceled her pregnancy from her parents, but everyone in school knew of it.
Then when the baby was born she dumped it in the dorm trash bin. Not cool. It was premeditated and the baby died.
She could have gone to the hospital and gave it up for adoption but she chose to dump it. She had no intentions of keeping the baby.
Therapy should be given at some point. But I say go to jail and think about the life you destroyed.

it depends. if she just throws the baby in there and leaves, that's attempted if not murder and i'd say death is too easy for them by far. if they stay and watch over the baby until someone finds it, i'm not sure. there should be consequnces. especially since in america you can just bring the baby to any "safe" place, like a firestation, police station, etc. and leave it without consequences. why are we letting the people who should be caring for these people kill htem and saying they should get therapy? these are our most precious, most innocent charges. thereapy is a frigging joke.

The poor girl .. obviously she thought this was the only way out of the situation :-( How do the parents/friends/family not notice when they are pregnant??? This girl will need a lot of counselling and if the baby didn't make it then bereavement couselling too ...

make a young one, realize what would have happen if her mother would have thrown her in garbage the day she was born!!!! perhaps try to find the reason what made her tke this ruthless descission

Therapy and Rigorous training into motherhood, after all its her baby and should be taught to look after it.

I would agree with you hey, but a lot of things need to be considered: What prompts someone to do that? Fear is the worst enemy of living humans.................This question is HECTIC

i think she needs lot's of therapy, and lot's of love, because, when she'll understand what she did... how to live with this knowing?how to forgive oneselve's?
