I just read a resolved question, why some Indians are dark skinned?
People who originated or living near the Equator are darker than those further North or South.Similarly curled hair is more prevalent among dark haired people.Could it be the same reason?.

The north Indians who derived from central Asia Aryan race are
fair to light skin just like people from middle east whom white call as sand niggers. Many south Indians who was derived from dravidian race were primarily dark skin. But both dark and light skin Indians are spread all over India. India is a very diverse country having people derived from: a) Aryan race b)Mongoloid
c)Mediterranean d)Negroid e) Arab/middle eastern f) Europen( due to foreign invasion). Contrary to western stereotype not all Indians are dark skin. People from north east India are very similar to Chinese people, people from punjab and kashmir are strong built and fair skinned, but again there is lot of variation because of interbreeding for thousand of years.

Doesn't matter Indians are not mad about skin colour as whites.
Unlike in Australia and most of the west skin colour is not the criteria for judging individuals as India is very diverse!

South Asia is right (above I believe) the equator, so they turn dark just by going outside for a few hours.

Actually I have dark hair (jet black) and I have curly hair, but it was my dad's gene. But yes it isn't very common for dark hair to have curly hair as well. It's not uncommon it's just not as common.
