www.gumtree.com
Its the best cos its local to London, you can avoid using agents and paying stupid fees that are associated with agents.
You can refine your search by area, number of bedrooms or price etc

I think free websites are the best. For example if landlords have to pay fees then it gets passed on to the tenant in the rent.
Gumtree is a good free site. But the next biggest "free" site for London is www.simple2rent.co.uk. Not only is it free but tenants can save search preferences and get an email alert as soon as a matching property is advertised.
Sites like rightmove only list letting agent properties, as a private landlord you have to use a letting agent that advertises with them - and they charge up to 15% of the rent.
So, is summary I recommend and support free sites like gumtree and simple2rent.
It would be good to hear other people's views on this.

Oooo a good one!
Yeah try gumtree and craigslist. But also, if you are going to uni in London, then try your uni's website. Especially if it's a univeristy of London school.
My favorite is net lettings. It breaks the city down by area and price range.
Best of luck out there!
