My daughter is doing a project for media studies and she needs to know if the 'Arctic Monkeys' syndrome is a myth. Have bands actually found MySpace valuable in getting gigs or selling music? Is it all hype?

Ok Well heres my opinion on MySpace on a whole.
Myspace is an awesome site!!! And many kids aren't aloud to get them because people always here on the news about abductions due to myspace. Anyone who gets hurt from MySpace is there own fault! if they put there own personal info on there then they're the idiot who caused it to happen.
As far as getting gigs and selling music, I haven't seen that at all, except for when REAL bands get myspaces and they tell ppl to buy there CD's
O and btw, I'm a teenager I have a myspace. And if you get any nasty answers dont listen to them.

Yes, I know alot of local bands who do very well on there. They promote gigs and their music, and the best part is, not promoting to just one local area. A+

It seems to work well for musicians. Napster did well, also Mp3.com. Bad bands first to a trend will always be bad bands.

i think my space is a place where people can send anything 2 anyone and kids get on and they r being tought and shown all the bad stuff there is
