It all depends on the nature of the divorce. The child will suffer in any event. But if the divorce is bitter and hatefilled, it will be that much more difficult for the child. If the divorce is reasonably adult and civil, the suffering to the child should be minimal. I mean after a child can be a lot happier in a calm, stable single parent home, than in a bitter, unhappy home with both parents constantly doing battle.

Hi, It all depends. If the children understands why their Parents Divorced they will be ok. But they will lose out on either 1 parent's love. It's too much to handle for any children to see their parents breaking up. Still all the children in this world needs to have both the Parents. Otherwise they should not have kids if they can't commit themself to be a Happy Family!

My oldest has a bright and happy future ahead, as I divorced her closet drug-addicted father when she was 1. Now remarried, she has a normal life, and a mom and stepdad that are there for her 24/7. (as opposed to a mom... and a dad, somewhere)

ditto Brock. My brother and I are totally happy and normal, my parents were open with us from the start. My mum even moved my brother and I across Australia with her new boyfriend, that was a bit tough, and Dad had another kid to another woman, that was also tough, but we worked through from the truths they told us
