Do a search for Contiki Tours.
Me and my girlfriend went on a tour round 10 of europes countries, we got coach transport, accomedation and all food except lunch included. Was well worth it!

Buses (coaches) are the cheapest and are quite good. Trains are better, but usually very expensive by comparison - unless you can buy a rail card for each country before you leave home. Have a nice trip.

ryanair, very very cheap and really safe airline, new planes and often in time, then rent a car.
me and my wife 8 days in Bruxelles
90 euros fly from Rome to Bruxelles go and back for two people 280 euro Hertz car rental from Charleroi airport (WV Golf plus); we went by car from Bruxelles to: Amsterdam, Paris, Brugge
(beautiful) and Waterloo...
the three stars hotel nearcy center in Bruxelles: 580 euros for 8 nights
very good trip and very cheap

TO share a car ride in some web pages , people post notices detailing when, where they are travelling. just share the fuel cost.

Best way is to fly, with National carriers...
BA have specials on multiple routes, with code share flights eg:
LHR - CDG - BA
CDG - BCN - AF
BCN - MXP - IB / AZ

This would save you a lot of time and money...

Cheapest is by bicycle! However train would be the most practical.
