It has some really good moments and some mediocre moments. I think their composition is getting more mature but also the influences are starting to show through more and more; Bowie in particular. Hot Fuss had a couple of outstanding tracks, Sams Town has a couple of really good tracks. At least they are going in a direction unlike, say, Keane who's second album is well short of their first. Then again, you have a lifetime to write your first album and Hopes and Fears was and exceptional piece of work. I think Killers will get better and better as time goes on. Love the voice and guitar work. I'd like to hear an acoustic track just voice and guitar.

It's alright.

In general, the lyrics are pretty dire.

When you Were Young is by far the best song on the album. But as soon as you realise it's total Springsteen homage, you start wishing it was actually Springsteen and the E-Street Band playing it, not Flowers and a room full of synthesisers.

For the rest of the album, Brandon Flowers indulges his Freddie Mercury fantasy.

The album was produced by Flood and Alan Moulder, who were responsible for some of the best alternative rock albums of all time for Smashing Pumpkins, U2, Nine Inch Nails and Depeche Mode. But that doesn't mean it's going to be a great record. Rather, it smacks of a record company trying to artificially create a great record. It sounds like one, but it isn't. It's simply alright.

I bought the first one and really liked about 4 songs but I'm already sick of When You Were Young that there's not a chance of hell that I'll buy the second. They're so overexposed that it is doing my head in and they really churn out the singles; a bit of a break would be nice.

I know my boyfriend doesnt like The Killers haha i think that it just depends on the listeners taste in music. Doesnt matter if anyone else likes it or not. As long as you think its great to listen to it, listen to it! :)

it's okay, not as good as their debut album but perhaps it's yet to grow on me, I find all the best albums take a good few listens before they become exceptional
