I could not find any good results for Cleveland on the website you provided and I don't know exactly what a good resource is for vacation homes. There are great hotels, extend stay hotels, and B&Bs in the city and metropolitan area though that aren't too expensive.
About an hour west of Cleveland there are plenty of vacation homes in the Lake Erie Islands area near Sandusky and Cedar Point Amusement Park. This isn't considered the Cleveland metropolitan area, but it is pretty darn close. I reccomend doing a Yahoo! search for places like Marblehead, Lakeside, Put-n-Bay, and Kelly's island. You will come up with a lot of cottages, condos, and homes for rent. This a very nice natural area with proximity to the lake, laid-back casual atmosphere, wineries, and Cedar Point Amusement Park.
I did a search for Cleveland and came up with a house in a terrific location and seemingly good deal. The owners have a sight called myclevelandhome.net. The house is in a good location - neat neighborhood of houses, around the corner from an attractive commercial strip of unique and offbeat restaurants and shops, within walking distance to Edgewater Park, an easy few minute drive downtown, and highly accessible to public transit that can take you directly to the hub downtown at Tower City.
I'm also familar with a B&B that has an extended stay suite. I've heard its really nice, and I know its in a great location. The neighborhood is full of little brick historic homes, and has become a pretty trendy part of town with new restaurants, shops, and bars. You can also walk to two great Cleveland institutions; the West Side Market and Great Lakes Brewing Company.
I found another site that can supposedly hook you up with a short term vacation rental if you fill out their form. You might want to try that.

great place to start your stay in Cleveland is at the Cleveland Plus Visitors Center. Here, you can pick up brochures, find out about events and get a little background history. Tourism has become a major source of income for the city, and the surrounding Cuyahoga County welcomes about 15 million people annually

If you are coming to Cleveland, I would suggest a visit to our National Park just south of Cleveland. Cuyahoga Valley National Park. My favorite spot would be Brandywine Falls. Breathtaking. Lots of great hiking, and in the winter, skiing. Lots of animals and wildlife, and the beauty you would not expect to see when visiting Cleveland.

First of all, why would you want to vacation in Cleveland? What area exactly are you looking at going to? The lake area? Downtown Cleveland? Suburbs of Cleveland?

Check out the web site for Blossom Music Center and see if there are any concerts that would interest you. It's an exceptional venue. Of course, also make sure to see the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame while you're in town.
