The advantages are that you can build a relationship at a time when you are likely newly away from home. My mom married her college sweetheart since in those days, women went to school for their MRS. But overall, many good strong relationships have been built because consider that you are likely meeting an equally well educated partner with similar interests.
The negatives are that first you get in a relationship that doesn't work out and you have to see tht person in all your classes for 3 more years. Also you may find that you have jumped into something quicker and you really like someone else. Probably some of the same negatives you have with a high school relationship. Good luck!!!!

Primarily I would like to address the total lack of
training and preparation most young men receive for dealing with the opposite sex as mates. Boy-girl
relationships are most helpful in laying the seeds for a healthy mature relationship in future years unless there
are problems with those early encounters.
In high school and college/vocational school students are crammed full of courses in English, Social Studies, Math, Biology, Physics, American History, World History, Algebra, Geometry, Trig, Calculus and Foreign Languages.
Nowhere in this extensive training period will we find classes on daily dealings with the opposite sex, mandatory remembrance of critical dates such as Birthdays, Wedding Dates, Date of First Kiss, Date of Proposal, Songs played on Radio at time of Proposal, or Those in Attendance at Wedding Reception. No training at all is provided for PMS allowances and remedies. Zero discussion is provided for postpartal depressions.
What we do find if we look closely is some basic information on what makes our bodies tick, what causes pregnancy, and helpful information on sexually transmitted diseases.
So, if one wishes to condem youngsters for having some form of boy-girl relationships, okay. If, on the other hand, you wish to foster those relationships, okay also.
My point is that you shouldn't send young boys out bear hunting without teaching them something about handling a rifle and the nature of the beast they were hunting. the bear might actually begin to hunt the hunters and the result could be devastating.

Pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases are disadvantages. Being distracted from your studies would be another. Almost everything else would be an advantage.
