yes. travelling to the US from the philippines, i brought my sony ericsson p910i with me. i purchased a sim card from cingular and used it on my phone, and used it during the two months i stayed there.

Yes, you can buy the sim card only, I know that cingular sells the prepaid card and you can add more money to it. You will need to go to a cingular store. please check their website for more information.
