House is a constructed building supposed to occupy by a family. Home is a place a family dwells. In a house a family may or maynot dwell but in Home there will be a family

A home is where you live, but it does not necessarily have to be a house... "The jungle is my home"... "My home is in Miami".

Home is more of an emotional attachment to a location, where a house is just a building.

Your teacher want you to say something along the lines of 'they both mean the same thing, but the term 'home' carries connotations with it, whereas house simply refers to a building.'

house and home have the same meaning but what makes them different is the significant meaning
house = building e.g. i live in this house
home = love of family e.g. everywhere is my home, if you're with me.

I would guess a house would pertain to rental a home pertains to ownership.
