If you've got a Golf VR6 then you REALLY want to be thinking about replacing the radiator. Otherwise if it goes pop in a spectacular way your shiny V6 will do exactly the same about 30 seconds later. Give your car what it deserves!

Link below shows a new rad for £69. That's about 1/10th the cost of a half decent replacement engine.

Depends on the size of the hole, but Rad weld is worth a go as you have nothing to loose except the cost of the Rad weld, i would only tend to regard it as temporary measure and would look to replace the rad in the long term, good luck!!

Yeah, the other guy is right.
For a temporary fix, a raw egg, or two, will work.
But the radiator needs to be warm to hot, to cook the egg.
This will only work for small holes, and like I said, is only a temp fix.
Stopleak will work too, and is a little more permanent, but will need to be replaced every so often.
If the hole is large, your best option is two have it replaced, or repaired.

Not so sure about that egg solution, but the rad weld and stop leak are the best but like they rest of the guys said it will be only temporary.... I had a leak aswell and after a few weeks of stop leak I had to have it replaced. $300.00 aussie dollars later it was fine. hahah.

It should do. I remember that the only thing you should not use it on was an old rover 800. Check the side of the bottle. It is dead easy to use and it bought me about 8 months before i need a new one!

Crack an uncooked egg into the radiator, as water heats up the egg will boil and go into hole, going hard and temporarily fix problem...

Radweld is fantastic and should work for most radiators.

You have to keep the engine running as you add it in, then add in the water and coolant.
