I would hate to send anything with a spelling mistake in it. I spell check everything just in case I've missed something. Rotten spelling drives me nuts! I have a friend who sends me emails that physically hurt to read.

Is it really that important?. This is supposed to be a site where we can kick back and enjoy, there are more things to worry about in this world than a few typo's and spelling mistakes... If you cannot understand the question then move on to another, don't beat on the person that posted it..

I don't know about anyone else, but I just come to this site
to pass time. If I can't read someone's question because
of bad spelling, then I either put something small for a couple
of points or I go to another question. I guess they just don't
care if their point gets across or not. It's their loss...

I couldn't agree more. Speed and laziness lead to the spelling mistakes....

i wonder this too.
good spelling is necessary to communicate properly, but some people think it is o.k. to use chat/messenger abbreviations on yahoo answers.
it would be nice if yahoo could filter these out.

I know! This infuriates me so much!
There are people who post questions which make ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE. Why bother? What are they hoping to get in response? Idiots!

Because they don't like it or something, I know, some of these questions you can't tell what they're saying.

No one cares. I edit my entry all the time, so I don't know about others, except to say that they don't care......

well,... for myself i use spellcheck only when i'm not sure...
i skip it at times because my internet connection is so slow and spellcheck kinda slows me down....
as for being embarrassed with my spelling, i don't really care what they think... they don't know me anyway...
