Its a combination of things, but mostly because of our system of reporting offenses to children makes the crime itself, and the knowledge of the crime, more open to the public than in other countries.

America, per capita may not rank first in child molesters; in fact I'm quite sure we don't if all other countries considered molestation in the same way we do, and reported it the same way. For MOST of the world this isn't such a big issue. It is our culture that makes this the horrible scarring experience that it is, more than the actual act. If there was no shame attached to it, unless you were physically maimed, most would go on with their life. We are taught that this is almost as bad as death; some prefer death to rape! That's not the human spirit, that's taught by the culture.

The worst place for a child to live is actually the poor side of China and other Asian parts who deal with child slaves for sex. I saw a documentary on this a few months ago. America is not full of child molesters. We punish those whom we find guilty of this. I'd like to see your source about this.

yes we have to many child molesters.one in the world is one to many. you are very wrong about America leading the pact. we are among the hardest on child molester then any other country. look at the countries that make a huge revenue off of child position. not only is it legal it openly advertised. so check your facts a little better.

U.S.A. reports and sentences child molesters publicly. Many countries it is overlooked completely, so they do not present accurate statistics. Some countries don't even consider it a crime, so I am glad I live here!

certain other countries laws are much more vague regarding child-sex laws. why they are released from prision after repeated offences? good question. i guess because they were placed in protective custody in prison. because if they were placed in general population, they wouldn't survive long enough to be released after the first time! nobody likes kiddy-diddlers.
