Can anyone tell me please how to build a flute?

I've been searching on sites about how to build a simple indian (from india) flute but but they don't give details about how to put the holes and how big should be the holes at different length flutes.
I would be very gratefull if someone could tell me how to calculate the length and the positioning of the holes for different length of flutes and diferent scale , thanks very much.
