Nope - But here is one to lull you to sleep;

"Statesmen will invent cheap lies, putting blame upon the nation that is attacked, and every man will be glad of those conscience-soothing falsities, and will diligently study them, and refuse to examine any refutations of them; and thus he will by and by convince himself that the war is just, and will thank God for the better sleep he enjoys after this process of grotesque self-deception."

I don't know who made this statement or even if it was made, but, I do wish I had been smart enough to put it into these words
America has became a sheep nation and have given up s many liberties seeking safety, that now we have no safety nor freedom,
Ben Franklin said " Any one who gives up a freedom for safety deserves neither," I do agree but most don't and cling to the government for their every need so now we have very few liberties left and no protection either, smart man

Edward R Murrow

An American journalist who came into prominence through broadcasting during WWI.

To respond to your second question: Does it matter?
Journalists no longer research facts thouroughly to paint a complete picture. They thouroughly get whatever information they can at the scene or at the time and run with it- maybe later set the record straight, but more often it fails to happen. Blogs have made news journalism suspect- I know I no longer explicitly trust them.
