there are no general rules, it does depend a lot on your coping mechanism and ability to overcome it. Getting qualified help will increase your chances to shake it quicker

Generally, a diagnosis of PTSD comes from a pyschologist, physician or maybe a councellor. But if you think you may have PTSD, I would first recommend seeing your doctor for a proper diagnosis, followed by councelling. If left alone, the symptoms may appear to go away with time. However, even with councelling, symptoms may re-appear randomly in the future, triggered by events in your life. The good news is a qualified therapist/councellor can help you to deal with the original traumatic event, as well teaching you what to look for in the future to help prevent re-occurance of the symptoms and skills on coping with the symptoms.

Hi.
It depends on the individual, we are all different. PTSD is a terrible condition, it can go away with time, but it doesn't hurt to talk to someone.

Talking can make things easier. It helps immesely just to know that someone understands what you are going through and it can reduce the mental stress very effectively.

Try it, you won't be disappointed.
